VW Typ KR1

El VW Typ KR1 se basa en un antiquísimo diseño de coche popular, y se fabrica en Kriegstadt desde tiempos inmemoriales, sin variaciones en su diseño básico.
Es un vehículo muy versátil, con un robusto motor trasero y carrocería monocasco redondeada.
Existe en diversas versiones civiles, policiales y militares, siendo un vehículo muy común en Kriegstadt al ser barato y sencillo de producir, además de muy fiable y fácil de mantener.
También se pueden ver en otros planetas, ya que se ha exportado en gran número a diferentes sistemas y naciones de toda la galaxia.
La versión militar tiene neumáticos especiales todoterreno y tracción a las cuatro ruedas, para poder funcionar en terrenos complicados. Existen variantes para diferentes funciones, como vehículo de mando, comunicaciones, policía militar...

En este caso se trata de un modelo descapotable (Esta configuración permite ocultar la ametralladora MG-42 que tiene en su interior bajo la capota), lleva abundante equipo y pertrechos para poder operar de forma autónoma durante largos periodos de tiempo.
Como indican sus marcas tácticas, esta unidad está adscrita a un grupo de reconocimiento.

The VW Typ KR1 is based on an ancient popular car design, and is manufactured in Kriegstadt since immemorial times, without changes in its basic design.
It's a very versatile vehicle with a reliable rear engine and rounded bodywork.
  It exists in various civilian, police and military versions, being a very common vehicle in Kriegstadt because it is cheap and easy to produce, and very reliable and easy to maintain.
It can also be seen on other planets, as has been exported in large numbers to different systems and nations throughout the galaxy. The military version has special all-terrain tires and 4x4 driving  to cross difficult terrain. There are variations for different functions such as command vehicle, communications, military police ...
In this case it is a convertible model (This setting allows its crew to hide the MG-42 machine gun having therein under the car top), and carry a lot of equipment and supplies to operate autonomously for long periods of time.
As its tactical markings indicates, this unit is attached to a recognition group.

 

Modelismo:

Originalmente el coche era el clásico Volkswagen Escarabajo, un coche barato de metal en escala 1:43 de color rosa, comprado en un supermercado. Se le cambiaron las ruedas por unas todoterreno, se retiraron por paragolpes y se le añadieron todo tipo de pertrechos, procedentes de distintos kits y otros hechos con masilla verde. Posteriormente fue pintado en los colores de Kriegstadt, se aplicó barniz brillante a las lunas (previamente pintadas en color negro) y se pintaron los detalles. Para los efectos desgastados y sucios se aplicaron tintas, lavados en negro y finalmente un pincel seco de color marrón por la base para hacer la suciedad de polvo y barro.

Modelling:
Originally the car was a classic Volkswagen Beetle, a cheap diecast car in 1:43 scale, bought in a supermarket. Its wheels were changed for a resin all-terrain ones, the bumpers were removed and all kinds of equipment pieces were added, some from different kits and other made with Green Stuff. Later it was painted in the colors of Kriegstadt, gloss varnish was applied in the glasses (previously painted in black color) and the details were painted. For a worn and dirty efect, inks, washed in black and finally a dry brush in brown at the base were applied to recreate dust, dirt and mud.
